Bob's History

Bob plays the keyboard, bass, guitar and sings. He specializes in the imitation of the original artists. His resume of songs includes: Always, Sentimental Journey, In The Mood, Unforgettable, Pretty Woman, All Shook Up, Unchained Melody, She Loves You, and La Bamba. Bob also plays the harmonica, saxophone and the drums. Bob is a family man, living in Salt Lake City with his wife and four children.

Bob was born in West Germany before the wall came down. He also lived in the Netherlands, Maryland, Virginia, Argentina and Utah. He has been writing songs since he was nine. He studied piano for 2-1/2 years as a child, playing such classics as Scott Joplin and Beethoven. When he was in Argentina at age 20, he borrowed a guitar and started learning how to play, at the same time playing the organ for the church congregation. Moving back to the USA at 21, he borrowed another guitar and started with folk music like Simon & Garfunkel and Bob Dylan, and graduated to songs he'd written himself. A few years later, with an electric guitar, he formed the local alternative music band "After The Fact" with his friend, Adam. They had moderate success until the band split up in 1991. That is when he joined "Crash Pontiac & The Hubcaps", a band he had heard about from all of his neighbors. He soon took over as lead male vocalist and bass player, substituting on the drums, saxophone and electric guitar as needed. In "Crash", Bob played at over 200 events with some of them having up to 10,000 spectators. Bob continued to play music at weddings and other events by himself and with other guest artists. "The Darling Martians" was a project spearheaded by Bob that involved several artists from across the nation, allowing them to collaborate and sing and play songs together via the internet. In 2007, Bob and his brother, Rick, started "The Blue Chair Band" to play Celtic and American folk music along with eclectic songs for both adults and children. They have performed at Jordan Landing, Utah State Fair, South Salt Lake Freedom Festival, Hunter Central Music Night and other events.

Now, he tours different Senior Residences and Assisted Living Facilities, entertaining with the type of music the residents grew up with.​

Bob has written and performed original music for 2 different plays ("George Albert Saves The Tabernacle", and "Snow White and the Five Dwarves") over the last few years. His song, "Say Hello To Christmas" (performed by Diane Davis from Nashville) made the top 20 on MP3.com in the year 2000. For 7 years straight, he arranged the music for girl's camp skits for the youth. Several Music-On-Hold backgrounds contain his music also.
